Fun Suggestions to Get your organization excited about BPA!
Amy Koch from Stanley Security Solutions, Inc submitted this!!
First, in the past, I don’t feel we’ve been very successful with simply asking people to donate items. For a company our size, we really needed to do more. SO, along with collecting items, we have come up with some ways to raise money. (so our BPA team can go purchase lots of back packs and school supplies)
We “stole” an idea from your newsletter and have decided to do a spirit week…info is as follows:
Monday- “School Spirit/Alumni Day”
Tuesday- “Sports Day”
Wednesday- “When I Grow Up Wednesday” (dress like what you

wanted to be when you grew up)
Thursday- “Throw Back Thursday” (dress like your favorite decade)-

This is also Ice Cream Social Day
Friday- “Hat Day”
One of the best (most fun) things we are doing is each Friday (which started June 17th as a “kick-off”) we are having what’s called a “frozen Friday”. We have purchased lots of ice cream bars, popsicles, Italian ice, etc… and we’re walking through our building and selling them! Last Friday was a HUGE success. We raised $350, just on the first one!
We hand out Back Pack Attack Flyers so people know what the money is going to. We also made up ice cream “punch cards”. Employee could/can purchase a punch card for $5, which will include all the Friday’s and also an Ice Cream Social during the Spirit week! It’s a great deal for them…and for us!
Our committee is doing such a great job with everything! It’s been so fun and I can’t wait to see how many supplies we can get with the money. I’ve attached a copy of the flyer that we had out…it’s so cute! (the one titled “back pack attack” is printed and cut into 2. The top page is actually the back page of the flyer)
Mindy from our friends from HardingPoorman Group submitted:
HardingPoorman Group motivates our staff by creating a Guys vs Girls competition for the Back Pack Attack. We have 2 bins (1 guys & 1 girls) and the team with the most donations wins ice cream served by the runners up (and bragging rights of course!) This is our third year doing the Guys vs Girls competition. The Girls won Year #1, the Guys won Year #2…..so this is our tie-breaker year! And, to keep things friendly and not get overly competitive, we often quote the HPG Back Pack Attack Slogan of “It’s all about the kids!”
And Managed Health Services is using BackPack Attack as their June charity. Each employee that wants to wear jeans pays $5 a Friday to do so!!
